1. Service Description

Ohio Lawyer Index ("the Service") is an informational attorney directory and lead-intake tool operated by Tech Easy IT. The Service uses AI technology to help users describe their legal needs and suggests potential directory fits based on practice area, location, and other factors. The Service is a directory and lead-intake tool only, not a lawyer referral service. It does not provide legal advice, representation, or counsel.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Ohio Lawyer Index, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

3. User Responsibilities

• You must independently verify any attorney's credentials, licensing, and suitability before engaging their services.
• You must not rely solely on AI-generated directory-fit results when selecting an attorney.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide through the chat assistant.
• You must not use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
• You understand that information shared through the chat is not privileged legal communication and is not protected by attorney-client privilege.
• You voluntarily choose what information to disclose. We recommend sharing only the minimum detail necessary to describe your legal matter, especially regarding health or medical information.

4. No Legal Advice

Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice. The AI chat assistant is an informational tool designed to help filter public attorney listings. It is not a substitute for professional legal counsel. For legal advice, consult a licensed attorney directly.

5. Health & Sensitive Information

Certain legal matters (personal injury, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, etc.) may involve health-related information. By using the chat assistant to describe such matters, you acknowledge:

• You are voluntarily providing any health-related information.
• This information is processed by an AI service (Anthropic Claude) for directory filtering only. Specific medical details (diagnoses, medications, doctor names, treatment details) are automatically stripped from data sent to listed attorneys you choose or consent to contact.
• Ohio Lawyer Index retains zero health data. Health information exists only in your browser session memory during the chat and is never stored, logged, or persisted by our systems.
• Ohio Lawyer Index is not a healthcare provider and is not subject to HIPAA as a covered entity.
• For sensitive medical details, we recommend sharing them directly with your chosen attorney where attorney-client privilege applies, rather than through this chat.

6. AI Processing Disclosure

The Service uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude) to power the chat assistant. By using the chat:

• Your messages are sent to Anthropic's servers for processing.
• AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate.
• You should not rely on AI-generated responses as factual legal information.
• Anthropic states that API data is not used to train their models.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ohio Lawyer Index and Tech Easy IT shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including but not limited to: the quality, accuracy, or outcomes of any attorney engagement; any actions taken or not taken by listed attorneys; any reliance on AI-generated suggestions; any unauthorized access to or disclosure of your data; or any loss of data, revenue, or opportunity.

8. No Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or reliable.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ohio Lawyer Index, Tech Easy IT, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

10. Data Usage

When you use the chat assistant, we collect information you voluntarily provide (name, contact details, legal issue description). This data is used solely to generate directory-fit suggestions and, with your explicit consent, shared with listed attorneys you choose or consent to contact as directory intake. 11. Attorney Listings

We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove attorney listings at any time. Attorneys may request removal of their listing. Subscription tier and other factors may affect paid or sponsored placement labels.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio without regard to conflict of law principles.
